Will DARK VENTURE be sold at retail?
Dark Venture will have a “limited print run” and it will not sell to mass retailers.
We plan on distributing to several local game shops, selling the game on our website and at conventions, but the price (and shipping) will be higher than a pledge on Kickstarter. We are focused on delivering the game to the backers of this campaign!

What has been updated in the 2nd edition of DARK VENTURE?
Here is a list of the major changes we have made to Dark Venture for the 2nd Edition.
• ACTION POINTS (AP): The cost to complete some actions has decreased or changed and a new action has been added.
- PAID ACTIONS: It costs 1AP (each) to MOVE 1 LOCATION, SEARCH A LOCATION (changed to “1 AP to roll 1d6. If 8 or higher, draw 3 ITEM CARDS, choose 1 and discard the rest.”), and INITIATE COMBAT. “DRAW A CARD” is a new paid action.

FREE ONCE, THEN PAID ACTIONS: Once per turn, 1 LOCATION and 1 CHARACTER may be played at no AP cost, then 1 AP per location or character may be spent to play more (previously, these actions cost 1 AP each time).

FREE ACTIONS: EQUIPPING, USING, PICKING UP, DROPPING, TRADING, and GIVING items costs no AP (previously, most of these actions cost 1 AP).
• REVISED SOLO RULES: Revised rules grant a larger hand size, allow for more card draw each turn, and provide more Heroic Quests to complete. These refined rules allow solo players to build the map and earn quest points more quickly.
• Many Core Rule updates, additions, and clarifications have been added. Notable changes include: more luck mitigation in CONSCIOUSNESS rolls; more luck mitigation in rolls to FLEE combat; attribute icons added throughout the core rules; clarifications on AGGRESSIVE characters and followers; clarification to NPC targeting in combat.
• Extensive 12 page FAQ was added to the Core Rule book.
• TOKEN GUIDE added to the Core Rule book.
• Corrections and minor balance changes in Location and Action guides.
• All REFERENCE PAGES on the backs of all guides have been updated with the new ACTIONS.
• VILE INVADERS BOOK: Instructions have been added to the core Vile Invaders Expansion book (additional rule clarifications).
• Cards that required updates have been revised (2 items, 4 characters and 3 Heroic Quests). THE CROSSROADS location has been updated with a unique back (to make it easier to find).

Other than the updated books and cards, is anything else different in my 1st Edition copy of DARK VENTURE (compared to the 2nd Edition)?
Other than rule changes and card updates listed in the FAQ “What has been updated in the 2nd edition of DARK VENTURE?” and any new stretch goals that are unlocked (that will also be included in the upgrade kit) nothing else has changed in the 2nd Edition of the game. All other components in the 2nd Edition will be the same as the 1st Edition.

Are there new components in the second edition?
Currently, there will be no new components in the 2nd Edition of Dark Venture compared to the 1st Edition. If there are unlocked stretch goals added to the 2nd Edition, they will also be added to the 2nd Edition Upgrade Kit!

Is the estimated delivery of “March 2023” correct for the DARK VENTURE 2nd EDITION CORE SET?
No, the estimated delivery of March 2023 is NOT CORRECT. Delivery for all pledges is estimated to be in the summer of 2023. (We wanted to correct this error, but as soon as 1 backer pledges a pledge level, Kickstarter locks that pledge level from being edited).

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
